THE POKÉMON COMPANY INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHES ANNUAL SOCIAL IMPACT REPORT

Organization Welcomes Raquel Daniels as First Chief Diversity & Social Responsibility Officer

Bellevue, Wash. – Jan. 11, 2024 – The Pokémon Company International published its Social Impact Report outlining advancements and work conducted in 2022 in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The full report can be viewed here.

The company has also announced the appointment of Raquel Daniels as its first Chief Diversity & Social Responsibility Officer. The role is responsible for the oversight and advancement of all global CSR and DEI initiatives for the company in the markets where it operates.

Highlights from The Pokémon Company International’s 2022 Social Impact Report include:

Corporate Giving:
The Pokémon Company International previously announced a commitment to donate, at minimum, $25 million over five years to organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and supporting social equity. Progress in 2022 included:

  • $2.5 million in total unrestricted cash donations
  • $8 million+ in product donations
  • 593 nonprofit causes supported


Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
The Pokémon Company International added two new Employee Resource Groups including the “Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (ANHPI) of Pokémon,” and “Neurodiversity + Accessibility Frontier” ERGs, for a total of seven unique ERGs supporting its workforce across the organization.

Sustainability:
The Pokémon Company International reduced plastic content in product packaging by nearly 1.4 million pounds.
