May 27, 2022—The Pokémon Company International has released the latest expansion from the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance, at participating retailers around the world.
This new set highlights Pokémon from the Hisui region, as seen in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus video game, and features Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott, and more for the first time in the Pokémon TCG. The Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance expansion also introduces the strategic gameplay mechanic Radiant Pokémon, a new kind of Shiny Pokémon with powerful Abilities or attacks that will shake up the Pokémon TCG metagame.
Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance also includes eight Pokémon VSTAR, 21 Pokémon V, two Pokémon VMAX, and a special Trainer Gallery subset of 30 cards with artwork featuring fan-favorite Trainers and Pokémon. The set is now available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections. Trainers in the US, Canada, and the UK can grab the exclusive Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, containing additional booster packs and Pokémon TCG accessories.
