The Pokémon Club Program Expands to the UK and Broadens Access for K–12 Educators in the US and Canada Through the International Society for Transforming Education (ISTE)

The Pokémon Club program continues its global expansion through new and existing partnerships, encouraging younger players to build lifelong friendships and hone social-emotional skills and strategic thinking abilities alongside fellow Pokémon fans; program expansion will begin on August 3rd.

Aug. 3, 2026– The Pokémon Company International today announced the expansion of its Pokémon Club program into two new channels, extending its reach to young learners and educators across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.

Developed in 2025, Pokémon Club is a program that provides young players of all skill levels with tools to learn and develop skills through playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and other Pokémon-themed activities. In these friendly, inclusive spaces, players can learn strategic thinking and social-emotional skills through their passion for Pokémon. Playing the Pokémon TCG can inspire teamwork and creativity, from exciting battles to collecting cards. The Pokémon Club program encourages younger players to build lifelong friendships and hone key life skills alongside fellow Pokémon Trainers.

Building on the program's success through its initial partnership with the American Library Association (ALA), the Pokémon Club program is expanding through two partnerships in 2026:

  • The Pokémon Club program will now be available at participating primary schools in the UK beginning September 1st. This will be in partnership with SUPER., an award-winning kids and family creative agency with over 15 years of experience creating engaging educational materials for school clubs across the UK.

  • Effective immediately, the Pokémon Club program will be available directly to K–12 educators through ISTE, expanding access to classrooms and learning environments across the United States and Canada in addition to existing library-based clubs through ALA.ISTE guides and inspires educators to create purposeful, high-quality learning experiences that reflect each learner's skills, interests, and identities through aligned instructional strategies, technology, and educator practice.

"We are excited to expand our partnerships to help more young fans experience the joy and community of Pokémon," said Barry Sams, Vice President of Game Development and Community Engagement at The Pokémon Company International. "We're looking forward to partnering with schools and libraries through the Pokémon Club program to create welcoming and inclusive spaces where children and youth build friendships, develop strategic thinking, and strengthen social-emotional skills through play."

These expansions reflect The Pokémon Company International's ongoing commitment to creating meaningful learning experiences that combine the fun of Pokémon with opportunities to build social and problem-solving skills.
