MEDIA ALERT: Pokémon Begins Holiday Celebrations with Pikachu and Eevee at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®

Nov. 24, 2025 — Trainers can kick off the holiday season with Pokémon by catching Pikachu and Eevee as they ride a Poké Ball-inspired sled at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® on Nov. 27, 2025, in New York City. The Pokémon Company International returns for its 25th consecutive year as the beloved Pokémon balloon makes its way along the parade route culminating at Macy’s Herald Square.
 
Fans can join Pokémon in closing out a “mega” year by enjoying a variety of offerings and experiences throughout the holidays, including:
 

  • Trainers can embark on a new adventure in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game, now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon. By day, Trainers can explore wild zones to catch and train Pokémon, while each night, battle zones open for the Z-A Royale, where players can climb from Rank Z to Rank A. Trainers may also witness Pokémon undergo Mega Evolution, a powerful transformation that goes beyond standard Evolution, altering a Pokémon’s appearance and sometimes its type.   • Fans can discover highly collectible and playable cards featuring more Mega Evolution Pokémon ex in Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames, the recently released expansion for the bestselling Pokémon Trading Card Game.
