July 17, 2026 — The Pokémon Company International today announced the launch of the latest expansion in the bestselling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, at participating retailers around the world.
In Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, a new level of mysterious power rises from the depths of darkness, bringing Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex to the forefront, while Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex blast through with striking force.
Boasting high HP and powerful attacks, these Mega Evolution Pokémon ex offer Trainers new ways to battle and build their decks. In exchange for their strength, these Mega Pokémon give up three Prize cards when Knocked Out.
Trainers can discover and collect cards from the Mega Evolution—Pitch Black expansion through booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections at participating retailers worldwide beginning today.
In celebration of Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, players will have the opportunity to receive a gift with any Pokémon TCG purchase of $15 or more. Trainers can receive a promo card featuring Armarouge from JB Hi-Fi. The promo card features a “What’s Your Favorite?” stamp and will be available starting today, while supplies last.[1]
Additionally, Mega Evolution—Pitch Black is now available digitally via the Pokémon TCG Live app on iOS, Android, macOS and Windows devices. Upon login, players will be rewarded with a themed deck accessory set as well as a Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Battle Pass deck featuring Mega Darkrai ex. An additional deck featuring Mega Chandelure ex can be unlocked with further play.[2]
