Pokémon Legends: Z-A Available Now

For the first time in the Pokémon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokémon can move freely in real-time battles, with Pokémon unleashing moves on command

BELLEVUE, Wash. — October 16, 2025 — Trainers can embark on a new adventure in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game, now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems. Catch the latest trailer here.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon. Each night, battle zones will appear and allow Trainers to compete in real-time battles from dusk until dawn as part of the Z-A Royale competition. Bonus card challenges add another layer of strategy as Trainers seek to climb from Rank Z to Rank A. By day, wild zones offer opportunities to catch and train Pokémon in preparation for the Z-A Royale.

Trainers may also witness Pokémon undergo Mega Evolution, a powerful transformation that goes beyond standard Evolution, altering a Pokémon’s appearance and—sometimes—their type. Effectively using Mega Evolution can dramatically influence battle outcomes, including those posed by rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

Players can test their skills against friends or Trainers around the world in the Z-A Battle Club, where up to four Trainers can face off at once, locally[1] or online[2], in electrifying real-time battles.

Trainers who own a Nintendo Switch 2 system can upgrade their Nintendo Switch version of the game with the upgrade pack to access the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. They can also begin their adventure with a system bundle that includes the full game, available now on My Nintendo Store.
